Month 18

These days my skin is at the best since late 2011.  My husband, who has been supporting me through my TSW & PW said that I look "soooo much better!". I do feel a lot better and really appreciate the power of natural healing.

Here is some progress pictures for my wrist and arm. I think they are completely healed!

Since a few months ago, when I was starting to notice that my skin was recovering well, I started to have a few spots on my back and face.  I never had spots on my back so it seemed strange at first.  Then I remembered Dr. Sato wrote in his book that when skin starts recovering during TSW, people tend to have spots.  So, I took it as a sign of recovery. Spots seem to naturally go away after a while, so I decided to just ignore them.

As my skin is nearly healed, I've been thinking about my new make-up policy.
I gave up my make-up 17 months ago, and actually forgot how to use an eyeliner. But it's about time to think about it again.

I don't want to go back in the loop of make-up, cleansing, washing and heavy-moisturising. After browsing some review websites, I stumbled upon Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm. I bought one from waitrose this morning, and am so happy with the result. It's 100% natural and gives you nice shades of color on your lips.  It's a lip balm so it doesn't irritate my lips like other lipsticks do. I don't even need to use soap to wash it off.

I hope my fellow skin fighters will heal very soon.

  2. Hi tommy,
New to tsw! Are you still not moisturizing? Did you even rinse with water? I am very interested in your post about not moisturizing. I feel like it doesnt do much for me since my tsw is on my face and find it either clogs my face or burns.

    1. Hi Lisa.
Actually I started moisturising on and off since April because I wanted to try Dr.Fukaya hyaluronan solution for my wrinkles. But I still find it comfortable not moisturising!
I think it's worth trying moisturiser withdrawal - especially when you're having a bad experience with it. I spent a lot of time and money on the-best-moisturiser-hunt during withdrawal some years ago, but ironically found moisturiser withdrawal the best. First few weeks to a month of moisturiser withdrawal, you'd feel discomfort and tightness on skin. It may start peeling too. These aren't bad signs at all. After this period, your skin gradually learns to moisturise on its own.
I don't know how much your skin is affected at present, but if you wear make-ups regularly you may want some moisturisers, because it's hard to maintain your natural oil on skin when cleansing off.
Oh and to answer your question, a little embarrassed to say that I didn't wash my face...for quite a while... x

the thing i find is i am breaking out alot. Pimply. Are you having that problem when youre moisturizing or have that problem during withdrawal?

    1. Hi Lisa. It depends what kind of pimples they are. If it's like itchy pimples (not acne), you probably get it anyway as a part of TSW process. But if it's acne the problem could be in the moisturiser you're using or your hormone balance. Acne can happen at the later stage of withdrawal and is a good sign - but not really the early stages I think...
When I was moisturising, it was more about burning sensation and swelling. The thing is that everyone has different reaction to withdrawal so your pimples may be a part of it.

    1. Thank you! I also did look like a zombie too, to the point I started sympathising with zombie characters in games! I still have a bit of zombie look especially skin color. Let's stay strong my friend.
